Friends of the MBF

Who are the Friends?
The Friends of the MBF are a group of dedicated supporters who give regularly to the work of the MBF through their annual subscriptions.

What benefits do they receive?
Friends automatically receive:

  • discounted tickets for a wide range of concerts and events all over the UK
  • discounted subscriptions for selected music magazines published in the UK, including Gramophone, The Strad, Gig and Dazed and Confused
  • discounted tickets to MBF promoted events
  • a copy of the MBF newsletter, the key, published biannually
  • details of supporters' events
  • details of MBF Christmas cards and the Christmas card catalogue
  • reserved seats at the Festival of Saint Cecilia service

How much does it cost?
Annual subscriptions to the Friends scheme are as follow:

Musician Friend: £10 (for professional musicians)
Friend: £20
Joint Friend: £35 (for two people at the same address)
Life Friend: £600 (one-off payment)

How can I become a Friend?

We regret that we are currently unable to accept CAF payments or payments by Deed of Covenant for the Friends scheme.

What are the concessions offered?
The concessions offered vary each season, but we try to arrange as broad a spectrum as possible. The MBF Friends scheme was re-launched in 2006. As part of the re-launch we introduced a large variety of new concessions, including discounted magazine subscriptions and musical giftware.
